Abstract
Production of rabbits in the world has witnessed a steady increase. Rabbits are bred for different purposes, primarily for meat and fur or wool. More and more often rabbits are bred as pets. The desirable quality of rabbit meat and carcass yield are achieved by modern organization and fattening technology. The aim of this paper is to show the impact of nutrition on the performance and meat quality of broiler rabbits. Meat, as the main product of the rabbit production, is a valuable source of animal protein in the human diet and therefore a number of studies carried out have been aiming to investigate the effect of nutrition on improving the quality and characteristics of the meat. The correct and complete nutrition, enriched with various additives, has a positive effect on health, food conversion and achieves higher daily gains fattening rabbits and has a great influence on organoleptic properties and quality of rabbit meat.
