Abstract

The scientific monograph 2/2 XX Anthology of Croatian Architecture in the Second Half of the 20th Century, written by Borka Bobovec, offers a clear and systematic overview of the prominent protagonists and their remarkable works in a significant period of Croatian architecture. The monograph, accompanied by numerous illustrations, presents a representative selection of works and offers an opportunity to rethink some architectural theories from the first half of the 20th century characterized at the time by a specific relationship between east and west with ideological and social components playing a dominant role in our understanding and creative production of architecture. The book contains four chapters (Architects carriers of culture, Redefining values, New generation, and The end of the 20th century) that offer profound insight into the seminal projects, buildings, and authors in the second half of the 20th century in Croatia as part of the overall art production. The content, volume and layout of the book as well as a selection of numerous relevant bibliographical sources are designed to introduce, educate, intrigue and ultimately encourage the readers to undertake some further research into relevant architecture topics.
