Abstract

The essay offers an interpretation of the autobiographical debut by Žarko Laušević, Godina prođe, dan nikad. The way in which the author of the journal turns reality into fiction, questions his place and role in the world, transforms his personal dilemmas and observations into expressive literary reflections and self-reflections, as well as the stylistic procedures that transform the journal notes into a liquid, lyrical, often meditative, but also bitter prose, legitimize Laušević’s journal as a text of open structre, and certainly one of the most remarkable prose works of Montenegrin literature at the beginning of the 21st century.
