Abstract

Franchise business model is one of the fastest growing forms of business with a big impact on the economic development, especially of less developed countries. Franchising has numerous benefits compared to other forms of business. One of the key advantages is a lower level of business risk due to the fact that the existing, established and successful business model is accepted. Franchising is especially used by entrepreneurs who are unsure of the success of their own business venture. Franchising is a suitable form of business even for franchise owners who want to expand their business, especially in other countries with specifi c business conditions. The goals of this research are to present theoretical findings on franchising as a business model and to analyze the franchise system Surf ‘n’ Fries as a business model designed on the unique method of production, packaging and serving of French fries. The purpose of this research is to determine the possibilities of franchising as a means of international expansion of Croatian entrepreneurs.
