Abstract

The paper shows the results of a poll about tracking media among the first
year students of journalism at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University
of Mostar. The poll was composed of twenty questions divided in five
groups. The results shown that daily press is read equally by both male
and female students. But weekly newspapers are read more by female
students. Monthly press is rarely read by both female and male students.
Female students listen to radio programme more often, while each male
and female student watches television approximately for three hours daily.
It is interesting that all questioned students have their own computer
and mobile phone. Students send e-mails rarely, but they send around ten
messages daily via mobile phone.
