Establishment of new Relations between EU and Russia

Abstract
After long-lasting reluctance, mutually expressed distrust, rethinking about the attitudes, interests and goals, EU and Russia have commenced the new phase of mutual relations. Having realised that in the post-cold-war Europe there is no place for some new kind of isolationism and autarkic development, both sides have worked out and accepted the strategies of mutual co-operation. It is natural that each side has as its starting point its own point of view, its internal problems and the political-economic picture of new Europe as each desire it to be. The fact though that European Union and Russia appreciate each other, that they negotiate and even achieve some jointly arranged actions, suggests that EU takes into account all its parts when building of new, united, connected Europe in the 21st century is concerned.
