Abstract

In this paper the effect of worn-out working elements (hammers) on
working quality of the mill by grinding corn grains and soybean pellets with up to 14% moisture content, was investigated. Working elements (hammers) were, after determination of worn-out condition, systematized in three groups, new hammers, half worn-out and worn-out hammers. The quality of grinding was investigated by using particle size analysis according to modified DIN, ASAE S 319-standard method. According to calculated values of uniformity module, bigger worn-out condition of the hammers has negative impact to working quality of the mill. The influence of physical properties of raw materials on working quality was also investigated (moisture content, hectoliter mass, 1000 grains mass).
