Abstract

In contemporary world of integrations there is a growing regional connecting across the former state borders. Important role in this process belongs to minorities which present significant part in particular regional areas and society structures. During the period of strong national states, many regions with strong regional identities were intersected with borders. In contemporary Europe this is not the case, because of the great role of ethnic groups which presented minority groups inside of national borders. Under t.be new circumstances they have the opportunity to expand their interests even beyond the institute of protection of national minorities in forms of other aspects of cooperation and activity. Unlike many open opportunities European regions are facing with, cooperation models are still to be developed in the context of the region of South East Europe.
