Abstract

In today's world, the rapid development of the economy points to the need for entrepreneurial skills of every individual. Nevertheless, numerous authors warn that in reality entrepreneurs often violate ethical norms. In recent times, the concept of ethical entrepreneurship emerges in the literature. In this paper, after defining entrepreneurship and sustainable entrepreneurship, as a desirable form of entrepreneurship, the concept of ethical entrepreneurship is determined. Ethical entrepreneurship implies running a business that is in accordance with ethical principles, taking into the account the well-being of society and the environment, while making a profit. The paper offers an overview of research on the application of ethical principles in entrepreneurship and guidelines for future research. A number of previous studies have been conducted to better understand the relationship between entrepreneurship and ethics. The question of which particular ethical dilemmas arise in entrepreneurship has often been investigated in those research. Research shows that a number of factors can influence the decisions and behavior of entrepreneurs regarding ethical issues. The complexity of the topic has led to inconsistent results in different studies. In addition to ethical principles, the application of bioethical principles in entrepreneurship is gaining more and more importance, therefore this paper provides suggestions for potential research into the integration of bioethics into entrepreneurship. Bioethics is currently of great importance due to the rapid development of technology and medicine, which often result in complex moral problems. Both disciplines have an important role in creating the future, but from different perspectives: entrepreneurship is focused on innovation, growth and market opportunities, while bioethics seeks to ensure that these innovations are carried out in accordance with morality. However, research on the application of bioethical principles in entrepreneurship is still in its beginnings. We can conclude that, in addition to encouraging entrepreneurial skills among the younger generation, work should also be done on encouraging critical thinking about the potential (negative) consequences of their business ideas in order to create a sustainable future in which human rights and ethical principles are respected.
