Sažetak

Carp spawning in the controlled conditions of closed water system circulation enable an earlier larvae production and their breeding till the age of one month, during the period in which outside wather conditions are still inadequate. In this study the authors compared the effects of various feed on weigh gain of carp fingerlings during the first month of their lives. The first experimental group was fed exclusively on nauplius of Artemia salina over the period of one month, the second was fed on the artificial feed supplemented with A. salina till the 12th day of life, the third on the artificial feed plus A. salina till the 21st day of life, and the fourth group was fed on the articificial feed only. All the four groups were kept under the same conditions, same stocking density, and were subjected to the same feeding regime. The quality of water was monitored daily and the feeding schedule adjusted acoordingly. Data on individual weight gain after the experiment completion proved the zooplankton to be a vital element in feeding of carp fingerlings. The body weight of the experimental carp fingerlings were compared with the body weight of the pond reared one-month carp fingerlings.
