Sažetak
On the basis of archival sources, primarily Emanuel Vidović’s letters sent
to literary critic Don Ante Petravić and sculptor Ivan Meštrović between
1903 and 1916, the paper discusses Vidović’s role and exhaustive contribution to the organization of artistic life in Split in early 20th century.
The correspondence also reveals unknown details of Vidović’s reflections
on exhibitions, art and his own artistic creation
