Sažetak

This paper presents an analysis of the marginalia in the cartulary of the Zagreb Diocese – Liber privilegiorum episcopatus Zagrabiensis. Written in the mid-14th century in Gothic script and Latin language, this codex contains approximately 700 marginalia, which are here divided into two large groups: primary (notes by the scribe, contemporary with the creation of the codex) and secondary (notes added after its creation). The marginalia are written in Latin script and language; those consisting exclusively of a year are recorded in Arabic numerals. Although few in number, the primary notes contribute to the historiographical interpretation of the cartulary’s provenance, revealing the scribal practices and education of its compiler. Secondary marginalia, added from the 15th to the 20th century by numerous individuals, are very diverse in content and indicate the long-term use of the cartulary, offering insights into its research history. The paper includes a visual classification of all marginal notes in the codex, including a table of marginalia.
