Sažetak

The aim of the paper was to determine the degree of consumer ethnocentrism and the perception of Croatian respondents regarding domestic and foreign food, as well as to investigate the influence of consumer ethnocentrism on the perception of quality of domestic and foreign food. An online survey was conducted, involving a sample of 257 respondents. The univariate and bivariate data analyses were conducted implementing the SPSS statistical software. The respondents were moderately ethnocentric and considered the domestic products to be of a higher quality, tastier, safer and more expensive than the foreign products. Thus, the research results are useful for the development of marketing strategies to increase the purchase of domestic products.
