Sažetak
According to the definition of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC 2001) adopted by the "Cartagena protocol on biological safety" modern biotechnology is defined as in vitro application of nucleic acids modification technique including recombinant deoxiribonucleic acid (DNA). Application of modern technology in food production poses new possibilities and challenges for the health of people and for economic development as well.
