This paper discusses the concept of sharing economy, which is at the centre of the fourth industrial revolution, together with artificial intelligence, big data and 3D printing. The development of sharing economy has been determined by economic, social and cultural factors. The concept of sharing economy can be discussed from the view of consumer protection law, employment law, personal data protection,
competition law, state aid and other areas. There is a necessity to re-evaluate traditional concepts in the new market circumstances. The existing concepts can hardly fit in the new models. This paper will try to specify the influence of the sharing economy on certain competition law issues. Rules about new business models have multiple effects on all market participants. Sharing economy affects undertakings, market
structure, definition of the relevant market as well as finding of potential abuses and other competition law infringements. There is a need for reconsideration of existing definitions and their flexible application to innovative business models.
