Sažetak

The implementation of ICT in education of today's generations, the so-called digital natives is the key asset in the process of training students for an independent life and learning nowadays. Unfortunately, we are witnesses of ill-equipped Croatian schools and therefore the use of ICT in teaching is not quite common. For this reason the aim of this paper was to examine the possibility of using free mobile applications that are available on Google play digital service, to examine the use of the application PlantNet Plant Identification in field work teaching Biology in 6th grade in Primary schools within the training unit of evergreen forest of Primorje and to examine the influence of smart phones in teaching on the students' employment and motivation. While searching the Google Play digital service, six mobile applications can be found which are considered to be appropriate for working with students in Primary school in Science and Biology. One of these applications, PlantNet Plant Identification, was tested in the work with students in field work in Science. 51 students took part in this research. It appeared that students accepted and coped with m-learning very well.
