Abstract

With the aim of protecting and reducing the negative impact of humans on the environment, modern science is increasingly focusing on the development of green extraction processes The techniques used for this purpose contribute to the conservation raw materials and energy, but also to the reduction of solvent consumption while increasing the yield of the desired analytes. Accelerated solvent extraction, ASE or Pressurized Liquid Extraction, PLE, stands out here, which is characterized by a short extraction time in closed cells at high temperatures. Berries are known for their beneficial effects on human health, thanks to the abundance of biologically active compounds, among which phenolic compounds stand out ina particular. The aim of this paper was to present an overview of recent research in the field of phenolic extraction from various berries (chokeberry, elderberry, blueberry, black and red currant, blackberry) using PLE under different extraction conditions (choice of solvent, time, temperature). The aim was also to evaluate the effectiveness of this technique in isolating the target analytes in comparison to other green and conventional extraction techniques.
