Sažetak
The paper presents the results of an institutional survey on financial knowledge,
skills, and abilities, which highlights the problem of financial competencies
among young people. Therefore, the research focuses on this segment
of the population, comprising 169 respondents under the age of 30 with
secondary education. This research aims to examine and demonstrate differences
in the knowledge and preferences of respondents, taking into account
their gender, economic activity, and the size of their place of residence, as
well as raise the issue of the availability of necessary information. Statistical
analysis included the chi-square test and Pearson’s correlation coefficient,
and the results indicated significant differences, given that they had little objective
knowledge about finances, distrust in the quality of formal educational
programs, or a high level of awareness of the importance of financial literacy.
