Computer as a tool for students’ research in teaching mathematics

Abstract

The modern teaching of natural sciences emphasizes the importance of activities and independent student learning, and requires introducing student into discovery learning. In teaching mathematics it can be realized by using computers and specialized software. This article presents three models of using computer and dynamic geometry software as a tool for student research in mathematics: discovery learning, inquiry based learning and project based learning. The research in teaching points students the original cycle of
scientific research, encouraging a critical attitude toward the facts presented, curiosity and creativity, increases motivation, develops the ability to abstraction, generalization and inductive reasoning as in the teaching of mathematics is extremely important.
