Abstract

Tourism is one of the most important sectors in the economy, especially in Croatia, where it makes 15% of GDP. Therefore the investment in the tourism sector is very important segment for the further development of Croatian. Each entrepreneur as potential investor in the establishment of a family-run hotel is welcome to the tourist market is saturated with a large hotel companies. The new direction of entrepreneurial investments in Croatia are a family-run hotels, which would represent innovative tourist offer in the Croatian tourism. Perspective of such development was recognized by the government accepting the loan program for small family businesses in tourism, which is to be open 200-300 new family run hotels of high category. The project has the potential for development, because they allow the inclusion of small entrepreneurs in the tourist race with a hotel companies with a recognizable brand. The aim is to show the current position of small entrepreneurs the investors in the family-run hotels on the Croatian tourist market.
