Abstract

By developement of molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics and mapping of poultry genome, it is possible to research on the influence of feed on poultry organism on molecular level. Also, it the is possible that research on one gene and its products expands on all genes, proteins and metabolites, with the purpose of getting data which could be connected with other biologycal elements present in particular organism. The aim of this paper was to show how nutrigenomics can influence more efficiently the quality of meat and eggs in poultry production. Nutrigenomics is a two-way interaction of certain genes and specific nutrients which can change gene expression, and finally enzyme transcription or some other protein. In genetics gene expression is the basic level where genotype has an impact on phenotype, whereas nutrition represents key point which influences health condition and reproduction capability in poultry. Nutrigenomics provides an insight in to basic metabolic mechanisms which control poultry metabolism. Progress of nutrigenomics is important for various meaningful aspects in poultry as swich production, health and welfare. The aim of nutrigenomics is to determine the effects of regular feed compounds on poultry genome and connect various phenotypes with differences on cellular and genetic level.
