Abstract

New approach in the study of specific language impairment are based on the application of various techniques of functional brain imaging. These research allow for the investigation into the background mechanisms that cause impairment in language development and explain the behavioral data, i.e. features that are related to the language impairment. In this
study a difference in language data brain processing between a SLI and a normal language developing (NLD) child was shown on a lexical decision task in an ERP paradigm. The results show a clear difference in electrophysiological response
in the N400 component
