Abstract

Favourable agroecological conditions, tradition and the connection with tourism represent a great potential for the development of organic farming in the Bujština region. This paper analyzes the current status and development potential of organic farming in Bujština. A survey conducted involved 50% of registered organic producers. Respondents cited environmental protection, market demand and certification as the main reasons for switching to organic production. The biggest challenges include climate change, high production costs and limited market access. The results can serve as a basis for shaping local policy.
