Sažetak
The interrelation between national security and telecommunications is by far greater and more complex than its image that has been created in the Croatian media and politics. Instead of debating upon intelligence-security services, it is much more to the point to discuss basic values of the society, national interests and the system of state institutions that will protect them and promote the welfare of the society. In the era of globalization and liberalization of market, a proper comprehension of the national security concept will establish a considerably different attitude of a state towards the telecommunication sector. By forming an adequate organizational system in a process of the liberalization of telecommunications, a state could reap advantages from a modem and wealthy telecommunication market instead of being harmed by the consequences of a transition quasiliberalization.
