Sažetak

The problem of new architectural interpolations into defined historic town centres is as old as the towns themselves. However, more comprehensive theoretical studies have not emerged before the 20th century. The interpolated Željpoh building (1961-64), by architect Stanko Fabris, located in 12 Maršal Tito Square in Zagreb caused a series of critical texts and long discussions rarely written about any other building of the International Modern style in Croatia. During the 1960s architectural forms became the focus of different contrasting theories on interpolation.
