RELATION BETWEEN OLD AND NEW - HARMONY, GOVERNMENT OR COMPROMISE

Abstract

Trg Mljekarice (Milkmaid Square) and the courtyard between Užarska and Šporer street are fine examples of succesfully interpolated modern elements into an old city nucleus. A correct revaluation of the architectural and historical value of the Old Town - its form, function and meaning - should be a basis for projects and concepts for the reconstruction and revitalization of the old urban centre of Rijeka.
