DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO TEACHING CROATIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Abstract
The paper makes a difference between learning and adopting a language, and between learning a mother tongue and a second language. A theory of methodics for learning the Croatian language as a second language has not yet been developed. In the paper the authoress proposes three basic approaches in establishing the methodical system. They are: 1Culturological approach, 2Communicative approach, 3Cognitive approach. Each approach has been clearly and fully expressed accordint to foreign and home sources. The authoress supports the methodological approach of the selection-combination and integration type by which, on the glotodidactical level, an integral theory should be established. If applied on the subject matters of the Croatian and Croatian and Italian studies of contrastivistics and contrafrontalistics, such a theory should be realised as a methodics of Croatian as a second language.
