The "RGN zbornik" citation score in the Scopus and WoS - important information

2021-11-01

Dear authors in the „RGN zbornik“ journal,

After months long researching performed by editors, I like to inform all registered users that many citations of your papers are not count on the journal score in the WoS and Scopus. Unfortunately, authors often, in the reference list, translated the “Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik” title or abbreviation in English. Rough estimate showed that “RGN zbornik” lost about 25+ % of citations in this way. However, we are registered in all bases with our Croatian publication title, and only sporadically English translation is added as verified, like in the ISSN portal: https://portal.issn.org/resource/ISSN/1849-0409 .

The WoS and (probably) Scopus are not part of such solution, so the valid titles and abbreviations in those the largest indexing databases are:

Also, using of the original publication title “Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik” will works everywhere (algorithm similarity match will solve slight differences).

I think that this did not inflict author's personal citation score, that is mainly count from author list and paper title given in the reference list. Any further information will be shared on the journal website.

This is crucial for all journals in the world that do not have original English publication title, but still maintain it in their own language. So, help them to be truly recognised, with their original title, in own language.

Kind regards,

Editor in Chief
