Issue title: "Thermal, Hydraulical and Mechanical aspects in Geothermal Engineering"

Dear Collegues,

The geothermal energy applications are undergoing a rapid development over a last decade. However, there are still several challenges in the successful exploitation of shallow and deep geothermal energy resources. A special effort is required to characterize the thermal and mechanical properties of the ground and to implement the thermal energy transfer technologies. This Special Issue invites papers on the current status of both shallow and deep geothermal reservoir modelling. New methods and indices are also welcome. This Special Issue aims to cover, but is not limited to:

Underground thermal energy storage (UTES);

Thermal Response Test method developments;

Subsurface urban heat island;

Analytical, numerical and geostatistical characterization and modelling of the geothermal reservoir;

Drilling engineering and installation issues;

Advancements in energy geostructures;

Geophysical methods for geothermal exploration;

Electronics in geothermal engineering.

Kind regards,
