Abstract
This paper explores the potential of using musical stories in the development
of emotional literacy in early and preschool-aged children. It begins by examining
the multifaceted nature of musical stories as a pedagogical tool and
their connection to emotional development. Special emphasis is placed on
the workshop series Journey Through Emotions, conducted at the Vladimir
Nazor Kindergarten in Zagreb. Through preparatory and thematic workshops,
children developed the ability to recognize, name, and regulate emotions using
music, storytelling, and movement. The results indicate that musical stories,
due to their simplicity and flexibility, represent a valuable pedagogical
framework that fosters the development of emotional literacy, social skills,
and creative expression.
