Abstract
The goal of each communication, hence also communication in language and literature teaching, is comprehensibility. In the teaching process communication interferences often occur. The reasons for these interferences involve the following factors: a) lack of language/information coordination of communication participants' codes; b) distraction; c) unclear and imprecise utterance of messages; d) incompatibility of interlocutors' schemes; e) influence of conscious and partially conscious mechanisms; f) confused, insufficiently argumented and incorrect transmission of information, and g) communication channel cancellation. To abate and eliminate the effects of the above listed factors in the teaching of Croatian language and literature, techniques and methods are proposed for smooth communication, that is, intercomprehensibility of the teaching process participants.
