The Choir Festival “Naš kanat je lip” (Our Song Is Beautiful) takes place annually in Poreč as a review and competition festival. The first Choir Festival “ Naš kanat je lip” was held on 6th June 1973 in the Istrian Assembly Hall in Poreč, organized by the Fund for the Promotion of Culture Poreč and the Elementary School “Bratstvo i jedinstvo” Poreč. The idea to organize a festival of school choirs which would perform music based on the musical idiom of Istria and Kvarner has grown into a significant cultural event of choral amateurism. After a summary of the history of the event “Naš kanat je lip”, the paper provides detailed information about the organizers and members of the judging panels who evaluated the submitted compositions and finally left the process of publishing these submissions to the editors of the collection Naš kanat je lip. Over time (1975-2020), four editions were profiled: collections of compositions (19 editions), monographic editions (3), collections of spiritual music (1) and musical picture books for children (2), whose development is also given an overview in text. A special chapter of the paper reviews the contribution of composers who actively participated in the Choir Festival “Naš kanat je lip” and whose compositions were published in the above mentioned editions. The article also emphasizes the discussion on the future of the event, which took place at the Round Table (27th November 2020) of the 48th Choir Festival “Naš kanat je lip” in compliance with recommended anticovid measures. The end of the article provides complete bibliographies of all editions of the publications Naš kanat je lip in three appendices.
