Mission and Vision of the Journal
The Journal of the Istrian Archives, published by the State Archives in Pazin, is a scientific journal. The journal primarily publishes scientific papers on the broadest issues of the history of Istria from the point of view of various social and humanistic disciplines, based for the most part on research into original archives stored in the State Archives in Pazin or in foreign Archives which hold archives of Istrian provenance. Apart from such papers, the Journal also publishes other contributions of scientific and professional interest: transcriptions and transliterations of smaller sections of the original documents, professional papers in the field of archival science, reports and notes on the activities of the State Archives in Pazin, peer reviews, reviews of books and periodicals, overviews, notices, obituaries and the like. Owing to the support of numerous collaborators, the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and some towns and municipalities of the Istrian County, the journal is published once a year. The Journal has been regularly published since 2012 on HRČAK – the Portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals, and in 2019 it was included in Category A2 journals based on the Ordinance on selection criteria for election to scientific positions of the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development.
