Intonation der mit Fragesätzen verbundenen Sprechhandlungen im Deutschen und Kroatischen // Intonation of Interrogatory Speech Acts in German and Croatian

Sažetak
Dieser Aufsatz untersucht in erster Linie die spezifische Intonation von Fragesätzen in deutschen und kroatischen Radio-Phone-In-Sendungen, die eine konditionelle Relevanz aufbauen. Den Ausgangspunkt stellt die Hypothese dar, dass Intonationsmuster existieren, die folgende Fragesatztypen aufweisen: Fragesätze mit einem Angebot, einer Aufforderung, einer Erkundigung (‚Frage‘ im engen Sinne), mit einer Um-Erlaubnis-Bitte, mit einem Vorschlag, einem Vorwurf und einem Widersprechen. Die Analyse zeigt allerdings, dass es im Wesentlichen keine Intonationsmuster gibt, die spezifisch für die genannten Sprechhandlungen sind.Stattdessen begleitet die final steigende und hoch steigende Intonation im Deutschen so genannte Umsteuerungs- und den Fokus verengende Fragen.
This article analyzes the specific intonation of interrogative sentences with conditional relevance in German and Croatian phone-in radio programes. The article’s main hypothesis is that according to the intonation type it is possible to identify the following types of interrogatory sentences: question containing an offer, solicitation, inquiry (‘question’ in the narrow sense of the word), request for permission, proposal, complaint and contradiction. However, analysis shows that there is no intonation pattern which would be specific for a particular type of interrogatory sentence. The finally rising or high rising intonation in German much rather appears in questions altering the course of the conversation or narrowing its focus.
