Replacement of old dilapidated bridges with new ones

Sažetak
The paper starts with the statement that a number of smaller bridges, either dilapidated or damaged in military operations, are still in use along national roads, and that these bridges must either be thoroughly repaired or replaced with new bridges. Three bridges are described: the bridge over the Žirovac creek on the national road D-6 between Glina and Dvor na Uni, the bridge over the Kupčina creek in Kostanjevac, and the bridge in the port of Rijeka. These old bridges are briefly depicted and a detailed account of reasons for their replacement is given.
