THE USE AND EFFICIENCY OF GAMES IN THE CLASS TEACHING

Sažetak
The research has confirmed the use and efficiency of games in the class
teaching. The primary school teachers from various places (towns and villages) use
games in their class mostly few times a week. The following games proved efficient
in the class: association games, word games, mathematical games, crosswords and
rebuses. Pupils mostly enjoy association and competitive games. The games are
mostly used in the opening and closing parts of the lesson. Teachers from towns use
games in all the subjects they teach. Less experienced teachers tend to use more
games which proved efficient in their classes, while more experienced teachers tend
to use more games specifically connected with the Lika-Senj area. Teachers with the
university degree use more games which proved efficient in their classes compared to
teachers with the college degree. Teachers with the college degree tend to emphasize
competitive and specifically regional games.
