Sažetak

Diabetes is the most common endocrine disease in the world and it`s incidence is constalntly increasing. Only good diabetes regulation can slow down the development of chronic vascular complications. Therefore, each possible intervention regarding inflammation pathophysiology, weight control or glycemia induces clinical interest. Human gut microflora is different in healthy people compred to overweight/obese persons and diabetics. The difference exists even in energy transport, which can also be influenced by gut microflora. The systemic inflammation as part of the pathophysiological process in diabetes can partly be caused by gut microflora antigens, and the intervention using drugs and probiotics into the gut microflora tract/system might change the level of glycemia.
