Sažetak

The work deals with the issue of the relationship of film art to the figure of Jesus Christ and with the reactions that such film works produce in Christian churches, particularly in the Catholic Church. In the first part the author analyzes the relation between art and religion, briefly recalling some possible disputes, misunderstandings and tensions. Then he presents a general theoretical attitude about the relationship of the Catholic Church to the film. In the second part the author points out the great importance that the film, art by its expression and mass media by its impact, has won in the modern world. According to him, the meaning related to the life, words and acts of Jesus Christ always has to be rediscovered and it has to face the basic characteristics of the modern world in which the Church no longer has a monopoly over the discourse about God. In the final part of the work the author is committed to open discussion about the film from the theological point of view, and to start a dialogue between religious and secular which would make room for new interpretations of the figure of Jesus Christ.
