Sažetak
Contemporary cross-cultural studies have examined cultural aspects of belief systems that are referred to as social attitudes, values, and social norms. Although traditional studies of culture that examine differences in personality and cognitive abilities have continued to receive a fair share of attention, trends towards globalization and upsurges in extremist activities in recent years have rekindled the need to understand different belief systems in different cultures. In this chapter, we review a series of recent findings from studies that examine the four main domains of noncognitive aspects of cultural differences, namely personality, social attitudes, values, and social norms. This paper also presents findings on cultural differences between societal clusters.
