Some physical and oceanographycal characteristics of the Otranto Strait

Sažetak
This paper deals with the analysis oft he measured data for temperature and salinity as well as parameters of the sea currents in the Strait of Otranto. The currents were measured in March and May 1990 at two stations at five minute intervals. Temperature and salinity were measured in August 1986, April 1987, July 1989, March and May 1990, on four stations along the cross section of the Otranto Strait. Data analysis indicated current system which was prevailing during measurement period. There were also specified such thermohaline characteristics as thermocline depth and its genesis, vertical stratification, as well as other maritime characteristics in function of space and time. The analysis and conclusions were confirmed by the T-S diagrams and hydrometeorological parameters data.
