Christian mystics in Henry Bergson’s doctrine

Sažetak
The author speaks about the teaching of philosopher Henry Bergson.
Bergson thanks 'that the ohniistiian mystics are (the hiigest stage of the
realization of »life’s enthusiasm« (I’elan vital) and the Creative evolution (Evolution creatrice). The mystics have an immediate look at God — by intuition, because the notions (ideas) themselves, as the dead creations-of the ‘intllect, are not able to say anything about God. The mystics, the Christian ones, are illuminated by love, which is an universal and universally human, moving and directive principle for the practice of life. The mystics’ experience — according to Bergson — is the only true proof for God’s existence and activity in the world: God is the source (oriigiine) of vital enthusiasm and oreative activity of the Christian mystics.
As a medicine against the sufferings of the man, Bergson represents
the »empiric optimism« of the mystics. Namely, their untroubled
joy, which remains beyond enjoyment and paiim, overcomes every possibility of sufferance, anxiety and pain because of the »evil« we endure. Finally the author gives a critical review on Bergson’s doctrine. Some critics are blaming Bergson that in his doctrine there is no essential difference between the »natural« and »supernatural«. This teaching is conducing into pantheism. In the author’s opinion Bergson’s doctrine includes a certain panentheism: The world is not God, but — the world is in God, without equalling that which is final and the »Infinite« itself.
