Sažetak

The author informs us about the process of settlement and cultural history of Poljana near Križevci from 1267, when we find the first record of it in historical sources, until the present. We find out about the landowners in Medieval Poljana and the taxes they payed, about ecclesiastic activity in the village, activity of the DVD Poljana (the local firesquad) and about the school. There is a list of teachers stating how long they taught in Poljana, along with a list of the number of students from the schoolyear 1875/76 to 1986/87, according to the school’s memorial.
