Injection moulding for practitioners Impact of adjustable processing parameters on moulded part properties

Sažetak
During the publishing of the Journal Polimeri the Editorial board has
tended to publish practical experiences in different areas related to
polymeric materials. Unfortunately, in the last period this has rarely
been the case mostly because of the defi ciency of experts willing to
share their experiences. Most of the scientists are focused on their own
original research or are included in European research as co-workers.
Therefore, the Editorial board has requested the English author
John Goff to permit translation of some of the texts from his column
Moulding Masterclass from the Journal Injection World Magazine. In
these articles the author reveals, shares his considerable experience
providing educational, practical, and somewhat thought-provoking
articles on key aspects of injection moulding optimisation and
troubleshooting.
John Goff is well known to everybody involved in injection moulding.
He has more than 35 years of injection moulding experience,
including: mould design and manufacture; materials selection and
processing; machine specifi cation and operation; process control and
mould assessment and optimisation.
He is co-author of numerous books and publications on injection
moulding and well-known for his seminars and courses. He was a
senior lecturer at the University of London and a manager for process
engineering at the Demag Company.
He is now one of the managing directors of G&A Moulding Technology
which acts as a consultancy for companies in Europe, America
and Asia. He conducts training, troubleshooting, process optimisation,
mould trials, computer analyses and project management.
In the next several issues in this column we will be publishing those
texts written by Goff that might be helpful to our experts in solving
some practical problems.
