A HUMAN RIGHTS BASED EVALUATION OF THE CROATIAN ASYLUM SYSTEM IN THE CONTEXT OF EUROPEANISATION

Sažetak
This paper evaluates the asylum system in Croatia in the context of Europeanisation. It uses a human rights based assessment to analyse and evaluate the shortcomings in the system. These shortcomings are then attributed to either ‘indigenous’ Croatian provisions or to the provisions ‘inherited’ through the process of Europeanisation. The cumulative findings are translated into practical recommendations on how to improve the Croatian asylum system.
