Sažetak

This study analyses the prestructuring of the total economic structure, especially that of industry, in Lodz, Poland. This city of nearly a million inhabitants is a typical example of the modern Polish dilemma and aspirations toward the new market economy. In addition to a presentation of the present structural changes, a historical survey is given of the development of industry in Lodz.
