Ageing of the Population of Žumberak as an Indicator of the Region Spatial Isolation

Sažetak
The process of ageing of the population is the result of Žumberak's spatial isolation. Ageing is demonstrated by means of numerical indicators: the mean age, the medium age, the age coefficient and the age index as well as the presence of unfavourable types of population's age structure in most of the villages. The indicators for parts of Žumberak are twice as unfavourable than those for the communes to which they administratively belong. The age structure is used as the basis for the forcast of demographical changes in the future.
