Sažetak
Reconstructive dentistry and dental industry are still trying to find an optimal constructive material which would by its properties satisfy the needs of clinical application. In the meantime, in addition to traditional feldspat-ceramic, aluminum porcelains and castable glass-ceramics have been introduced infixed prosthodontics. The use of these ceramic materials in denstistry has resulted in the metal-ceramic system, system with foil and system with hard core. All-ceramic crowns have to satisfy the natural color and functional strength. Each of the mentioned systems has added something new and better as
compared to the previous one. However, ceramics is a brittle material,as differentiated from the metal. All-ceramic restoration
cannot be submitted to high functional stress; instead of deformation,
it breaks. Therefore, all-ceramic materials are only indicated for solitary crowns, inlays and veneers, but not for bridges.
