Sažetak
Glass-ceramic is a polycrystal material produced by controlled crystalization o f glass. Due to chemical inertness great mechanical
strength, hardness similar to natural enamel, little degree o f growing
during the process satisfactory esthetics, relatively simple application
and other physical properties, this material offers great possibilities
for use in prosthodontics. The Dicor system belongs to the group of castable glass-ceramics with controlled growth o f crystal within the amorphous glass matrix which appear during the additional process of ceramisation. Empress ceramic is a pressed glass ceramic in which leucite crystals are already present in the glass matrix. Both ceramic systems are considered to be of high quality reconstructive materials, indicated for reconstruction of crowns, inlay and onlay, while bridges have not yet been clinically accepted.
