Sažetak
Starting from the fact of contemporary crisis of faith and
seeing it primarily as a crisis within every man, this work perceives
two starting points for an appropriate theological response. The
first starting point is turning to the biblical foundation of faith,
i.e. apprehension of faith as a correct understanding of God,
and the other is the contemporary man and his time. Therefore,
in its analysis of the conditionality of the Christian faith, the
work starts from the mystery of God which is not just the object
of faith but the foundation of faith. The first part analyzes and
summarizes the content of the Old Testament revelation of
Yahweh God of Israel, his omnipotence and oneness, promise
and faithfulness. The second part analyzes the New Testament
revelation of love of God the Father, through his Son Jesus
in the Holy Spirit. The Christian faith can be understood as
a continuous journey with this Living God, as a response to
the call, which, appropriately to mystery of God, but also to
mystery of man, has to be comprehended through its multiple
meaning.
In the third part, the work tries to present this multiple
meaning of the believer’s response analyzing the experiences of
doubt, question and paradox as the experience within the faith,
and it also tries to see the relationship between these experiences
and nowadays highlighted crisis of faith. Through the analysis
of biblical strongholds, philosophical considerations and most
of all existential positions, the work concludes that these
experiences, though externally manifested under the guise of
crisis, are actually the onset of seriousness and purification of
faith.
