The efect of aminfluoride on the morphogenesis of subgingival plaque in adolescents

Sažetak
The effect of the AminfluorideR mixture solution (Podravka-Befupo) on the morphogenesis of subgingival (plaque was studied. Teeth of young persons indicated for extraction for either orthodontic or endodontic reasons, were used as experimental modeils. Prior to extraction, an organic fluoride mixture solution was injected into particular areas of the sulcus and kept there for 24 h and 7 days. Extraction and preparation of the material for SEM analysis were carried out by a special method, to preserve thus the morphology of microorganisms and extracellular matrix. The results obtained point out to a significant effect a aminfluoride on the process of plaque maituiraition, particulary on the development of filamentous forms of microorganisms, the occurrence of which is associated with exacerbation of gingivitis.
